Never Stop Learning How to Write
Every time that you think you’re done learning how to be a good writer, you’re wrong.
There is always a new trend, a new style. You’ll hear that someone out there just changed the publishing game — again — and you don’t want to be left behind.
It’s like any industry, or any job.
Some new hotshot will come along and say, “No, this is how you make new clothes, land more clients, sell more books, build more skyscrapers.” And while crowds may go and listen to them speak, that doesn’t mean you have to.
But you do need to be aware of how the waters ripple, and how the tides change. Because those guys are ultimately going to shift the way the consumer, well… consume.
If you want to write books to make a living, your readers are consumers, and they will eat your books differently as markets change.
